A+ Academy Secondary Knightettes Lend a Helping Hand to Families Affected by Hurricane Harvey

  The A+ Academy Secondary Knightettes put aside their own group fundraiser, to help in donating dozens of boxes filled with supplies to the Inspired Vision Compassion Center this week, in an effort to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey. As soon as students and staff arrived to campuses last Monday, they began discussing the most effective actions they could take to help their Texas neighbors. HOSA Students Lead Blood Care Drive On Campus

A+ Academy Secondary scholars involved in HOSA, a health science organization for future health professionals, held a blood drive on campus as part of their commitment to helping their local community hospitals. April Escalante, this year’s HOSA president, served as lead coordinator of this year’s blood drive. Other students who aided in the blood drive included student athletic trainers, who assisted in appointment setting, and on-site navigation of the donation process. A+ Charter Schools were founded by Don and Karen Belknap in response to the growing needs of at-risk children living in the Pleasant Grove neighborhood of Dallas.
