‘Chrome Crew’ Dives Into Their New Roles as Technology Gurus

A+ Academy Secondary has begun their CTE practicum work, and this year, 7 of our scholars have been assigned to work in the ‘CHROME CREW’, with our awesome Director of Technology, Mr. Kevin Spurgin. They will be gaining hands-on training and experience in managing a technology department, as well as all the technical support required for smooth functionality. Larontay Chester, Inspired Vision Secondary Scholar, Speaks at Texas Charter School Rally

    Larontay Chester, Senior at Inspired Vision Secondary School, and self-published author of three books, was invited to speak at this year’s Texas Charter School Rally held on Wednesday, April 26th. A+ Academy Alum Now Co-Starring in Popular USA Show, “Queen of the South”

I bring you the following great tidings of joy:   Gustavo Hernandez, A+ Academy, class of 2014, has been cast in a Co-Starring, reoccurring role in the new USA Network TV show, “Queen of the South.” Gustavo was in our first production of the A+ Theatre, Our Town, and continues to coach our actors in rehearsals. A+ Charter Schools were founded by Don and Karen Belknap in response to the growing needs of at-risk children living in the Pleasant Grove neighborhood of Dallas. The Belknaps recognized that Pleasant Grove was rampant with gang activity, illegal drug use, and criminal behavior, and Mrs. Belknap’s research indicated that the 75217 zip code had one of the highest child mortality rates in the nation.
